Sweet! Gratis tickets daarvoor hier.

Morgen helaas niet naar BrasilInTime in the Dam, met Madlib en de Kindred Spirits crew, so that’s bad. Maar Jose James kunnen we niet missen, right? Hij leverde zonder twijfel m’n favoriete album van de laatste maanden af …

Yes yes yes. It’s out and about, the third volume of tracks Lennart, Creaminal and me selected from our Beyondjazz members and friends. Out for two weeks now, in fact …
It’s been quite a long ride from the decision to compile another volume till putting the webshop online; Lots of emailing, the mastering, doing the promotion and creating a digital download shop. Now, it’s up to you to judge … and hopefully enjoy.
For me it has been definitely worth it. I’m glad I could help bringing the young cats on our cd to a small but dedicated audience.

So far for the intro text, here’s the shameless “self promotion” …

“Awesome sampler! Well done mate. Tight work!” – Ricardinho (UK)

“I’m listening your BJ 3 right now and I’m blown away by Joash. It is not happening often I’m blown by somebody. Tell me more about the track. I need to to know … Really …” – Philarmonix (Metronomic Family, DE)

“Thanx so much for Beyondjazz vol. 3 … Excellent collection of quality future grooves! Will certainly be giving this a good ol bashing at my session! 10/10!” – Bruce Q (Liquid Fusion Music, UK)

“Honestly, this is better than certain future jazz (ahem) comps have been in recent years. I like. My faves are Montreal, Mirandolina, and My Crazy Vein. I’ll probably end up playing My Crazy Vein the most when I DJ. Mirandolina will also get some action. Glad to hear some new broken beat, too. Where’s the electro?. Just kidding.” – Iguassu

“Hey guys, thanks for the download! Amazing compilation! I will chart and play this one out..Congrats!” – Osunlade (Yoruba Records, GR)

More after the jump …

“Thanks for the album, guys … Great representation of what Beyondjazz is all about…..quality music on the nujazz/broken tip. Some great talent old and new in one cool package! Will get chart love next month, and some airplays, of course! Keep on….peace!” – Velanche Stewart (Urban Landscapes Radioshow, USA)

“Managed to download the zip this evening and definitely feelin’. Top 3 in no particular order would be: Nemoy – Combining Equations. Heavy percussion, heavier vibes. Lovin it. Jonny Miller – Subversion. Simple yet sublime. Big fan of Jonny’s. Inverse Cinematics – Lost In Time. Unmistakably Inverse …” – ClickGroove

“‘Hearing tomorrow’s music today is a sentence too often overused and in many cases not even abided by. Most of the so called ‘tomorrows music’ I actually heard last week or even the week before. But when it comes to the Beyondjazz sampler (now at number 3), you really are getting music from the future. New and exciting producers and musicians, creative and original ideas, some boundary breaking, some rule books shredded and discarded. Makes for an excellent and exciting concept and idea, and ultimately interesting listening experience, 10/10.” – Alan Brown (Soul Seduction, Vienna)

“This shit is hot. Easily one of the best compilations this year. Wish I had gotten this in time for my gig with Jazzanova last week! Please keep me in the loop on future releases.” – J-Justice (Suntzu Sound, USA)

“Fantastic tracks and a really fin selection. Kind of fluffy latin tipped to mellow jazzy vibes – simply perfect like a smooth morning breeze! So I guess you are pretty much right when you say: this one will be your stongest one!” – Bernd Niedergesaess (Radio42)

“Thanks for the tracks boys. Very nicely put together. Joash’s track – ‘Montreal’ is the real winner for me! Thanks again Keep up the inspiring work. Best wishes.” – Robert Strauss

“Am currently listening to your new sampler. Only 3 tracks in and all of them are so dope already, that the rest couldn’t pull the quality down anymore … Joash is one hell of a track. 100% my cup of tea. Thanks & keep it up.” – Dirk Rumpff (Offtrack Radio, DE)

“I am just on track two and think this is one of the most exciting things I have heard for a long time. Senstational compilation. A job well done.” – Blair (Straightup.com.au)

“Digging the beyond sampler …” – Snorre Seim

“Great compilation guy’s! Longtime not hearing some new qualtity broken stuff..experienced it as a real dedication! “Lost in time” is the stand out for me! Peace, Wouda” – Wouda (Dopeness Galore)

“Compilation sounds awesome – well done! It’s all about Subversion, My Crazy Vein and the breakdown in The Lonely Years. I really like the Flowriders track as well as ‘The Lonely Years’. I hope nuff kats support this – they should do! Great stuff – will chart it!” – Natasha (tpMag, UK)

“After Oracle’s track, ‘My Crazy Vein’ is my favorite. Really dig JM’s track too. Lava Musique Ensemble – All I Have, Nemoy – Combining Equations, and Yosaku – Mirandolina, are also wicked tracks. And what about Joash’s epic number – Montreal? That is BAD! The whole thing’s a quality affair. Bigi top.” – Surra

“Thanks for that! Will give the tracks support on Back To The Future …” – Lanu (Straightup.com.au)

“Greetings guys! Thanks for sending through your compilation Time for some feedback from us to you, always supporting us. I’ve been playing the album to Luciano Cantone (one ½ of Schema) as we listened while working on our PC we both agree on the following comment. “Good future jazz, with nice insertions of Brazilian and jazzy-house tracks as well. Surely worth checking out to keep up-to-date with the scene..” – Schema / Ishtar (IT)

“I’m really enjoying the compilation cd, there are some wicked tracks on it! I like the epic quality of the tracks. peace and respect.” – Vincent Helbers (Flowriders, NL)

“Thanks for sending this release for me to enjoy. I will be sure to send you the charts of the music that I have been playing. The tunes that gripped me immediately were Yosaku’s “mandolina”, Inverse Cinematics’ “Lost In Time”, Mixed Moods mix of flowriders, and the very cinematic orchestra – inspired “Montreal” by Joash. Nice one fellas. Will be sending my charts soon. Thanks again!!!!!!!!” – Henderick Mitchell (USA)

Pick of the bunch for me was the tracks from Joash – great song, Yosaku and Inverse Cinematics . Respect Beyondjazz!” – Steven Moore (Sala, UK)

“Yes, checked the compilation and I think it’s all good stuff but not so much my cup of tea. However, I really liked that Yosaku track. it’s brilliant and I’ve been playing it at all my gigs the last 2 weeks.should definitely be out as a 12″ inch.” – Prins Thomas

“Great soulful jazzy stuff, some will definetly be played out for a long time. You can tell it’s an idea born out of desire and passion for the sound – no compromise, for that I salute you.” (jazzy)mike a.k.a. Skwerl (Members Of The Trick, DE)

“What a great compilation! I will definitely play some of the tracks. Especially diggin the Inverse Cinematics track.” – Nils Krogh

“I’m playing out and really diggin on Nemoy’s ‘Combining Equations’ in particular. I’ll be playing a couple in my next radioshow with a big shoutout to beyondjazz.net . This will be recorded live in Oxford UK on the weekend of Sat 2 December, and go live online to coincide with your release date of 6 Dec!” – Cynan

“First I want to thank you for this good quality music compilation. really deeeeeep tracklisting. Simply I LOVE IT Respect to all the crew” – Stephane Attias (visions-inc.net)

“i am following the vibes of beyondjazz since years. and what 1st looked like the best view on a worldwide scene of the best music and their selectaz and tastemakers became the scene itself. congratz! glad to see my friends mixed moods, inverse cinematics and nemoy in here. digggg! do i need to say that each tune is a pearl itself? i will keep watching you!” – m.path.iq

“Beyondjazz has increasingly become known as the premier site for all things forward thinking in music. To hear it manifested here in volume 3 of their compilation series is like indulging in aural candy for the ears. As is the case when something was truly meant to be, the Beyondjazzers have, with seemingly no effort, collected tracks from the cream of the crop of up & coming artists in the nujazz/broken beat community and presented them here in all their glory for us unsuspecting music junkies. They’ve truly dropped the velvet hammer on our asses with this one. Watch out!” – Joshua (Deeper Soul, USA)

“Excellent selection of jazzy and broken beats numbers. A very good variety of nice beats and melodic tunes. I’m feeling this compilation and will definitely play some on my radio show. Keep grooving guys.” – Alex Attias

“Too much to choose from … this album will be in my co-op playlist for a long time. excellent comp.” – Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic, UK)

Very nice! deep, smooth, funky and chunky, the way i like it! over all a very strong comp. i really appreciate the stylistic diversity. this comp displays an interesting dynamic of where we are heading and the future is looking or should i say sounding good in that respect. holding true to the rule breaking foundations that electronic music was built beyond jazz 3 works well as something to listen to from beginning to end and would be a great comp to have in the crate if you are the dj type. good for the dance floor and the lounge. its very hard to pick favorites as all tracks are strong and can stand on their own. look forward to checking these artists in the future. – Charles “arch_typ”

“Thanks a lot for the promo of beyondjazz 3. we are very happy, that also nemoy is on the compilation! This compilation is fresh, there are a lot of new producers and musicians behind I think. There is not much I know, but it shows that there are still people doing good quality broken beat and jazz. all the tracks are good produced. Especially I am really into that really soulful Flowriders track, the detroit touched Jonny Miller thing and Lava musique Ensemble which combines really good broken beat with a touch of funk, that rolls. really fresh! good luck guys! a+” – Chris (Bonzzajj Records)

“Track 11 by joash is really great” – Niko (Radio Citizen)

“Can’t go wrong with both neo bossa and broken madness on the same compilation! My favourite picks are Oracle’s The Process, Yosaku’s Mirandolina and the beautiful My Crazy Vein by Flowriders. Big up the Beyondjazz crew!” – Opolopo

“There’s a great web community called Beyondjazz that’s one of the first places to find news, interviews and feedback on some of the great music in the nu-jazz/broken beat scene. The site also cover a wide variety of future soul, abstract hip-hop, and other related genres, hosts an excellent weekly radio show (available for download via its podcast), and also hosts events in and around its hometown of Ghent. The crew is set to drop its third compilation simply entitled Beyondjazz Vol. 3, featuring a roster of old hands and new talents in the mix. Among the peeps on the album are Inverse Cinematics from Germany, Jonny Miller from the UK (whose label, Jus’ Listen, has, well, just launched), Flowriders from the Netherlands (whose album dropped for the 4Lux label) and Yosaku from Cali (remember the cool “Future Paradise” tune??). Visit the website for more info on the digital-only album.” – Velanche (Giant Step)

“The compilation is incredible. I’t has received heavy rotation on my radio show Eavesdrop as well as other dj gigs.” – Junior (Recordbreakin)

“Thanx for the download. Respect to beyondjazz for enriching the world again with an awesome selection of ruff underground futuristic tunes …” – Inna Vision & Mind Eye (JazzSole, NL)

“Thanks for the promo. Interesting to hear all this mixed talent. Overall quality is high although we are missing a stand out track. Mirandolina and My Crazy Vein are our favourites.” – SUMO

“Great to see you guys have not lost your touch in selecting tunes for Vol.3. I’ve been hammering three tracks from the comp for a while, which is a good start and great to see them get an official release. As for the rest … well they are all of the highest quality and I’ll be defo spinning them.” – Simon Harisson (Basic Soul)

“A great compilation getting heavy rotation from us, quality music cheers!” – Younglee (Ok_Ma)

“The compilation is dope bro. Like it a lot.” – Jay Scarlett (Spacek Soundsystem)

“I dig it! I played a cut on my radio show, BTS last week. However, I’m unsure of the artist name. A track called “All I Have”. You can listen to the show at www.btsradio.net Thanks again!!! Solid ass comp.” – Andrew Meza (Ubiquity Records, USA)

“Plenty new talent and plenty good new music! I think the compilation is of a really high standard throughout but in particular the tunes that stand out for me are the Lava Musique Ensemble, Nemoy and Yosaku. I’ll definitely be checking for these names in the future. Excellent stuff!” – Oli Burton (Best Kept Secret, UK)

“My fave is Mirandolina. Thanks for the tracks.” – Dj Stylus (Schema Records / Ishtar, IT)

“Thanx for sendin the link. I really enjoyed listening to this while feeding milk to my daughter. Nice compilation guys, keep it comin’.” – Dj Grazzhoppa (BE)

“Hi BJ, thanks for the comp sampler – it’s hot! Will definitely spin, and spin with it” – Owusu (Owusu & Hannibal)

“Many thanks for the compilation… good stuff! I’m especially feelin’ the Inverse Cinematic and Yoasaku tracks… both top floor fillers.” – Mad Mats (Raw Fusion, SE)

“This selection is jam packed with club killers and home listening gems. The Inverse Cinematics, Yosaku, Joash and Spektator are among my faves, but the whole thing is a worthy testament to quality modern electronic music. Top notch!!” – Dom Servini (Wah Wah 45s, UK)

“Great selection of tracks on the sampler, from broken beats to house to boogie to latin styled beats and more … will be getting dancefloor support all the way from Singapore for sure!” – Kaye (DanceAndSoul.com)

“Great selection of tunes!! Beyondjazz for real … pure vibes!! I will definately be playing them at co-op & jazzre:freshed! stand out tune … Jonny Miller’s – Subversion: that’s gonna hurt some people in a dance!! (you have to put it on a 12″!!!)”

Top gasten!!!” – Erik Van Beek (MFP Collective / Flyin’ High, NL)

“Thanks a lot for the promo, sorry for late reply, been mad buzzy at work and not had so much time for listening attentively. The standout-tracks that have been getting the most plays over here are:
1 Joachim Knoll – feel the process, a classic westlondon style aproach, funky!
2 Jonny Miller – subversion , deep n heavy uptempo track with lush harmonies, love it!
6 Andre Seiler – Combining Equations, dope “Fulton/Syclops” style track, heavy!
Overall it’s a very interesting compilation showcasing music made by musiclovers (for musiclovers!?)” – Soulhustler (UK)

“Nuff props to beyondjazz for pulling together a forward thinking selection of modern day music by next generation pioneers!” – Mark De Clive-Lowe (Antipodean Records)

“Thanks for a great compilation! It´s a perfect cross-section of future´s music by some known and some new producers with new visions. There´s many great tracks to play. I liked especially Yosaku and Joash ones.” – Jarno Lappalainen (Present Sense, Nine2Five, Finland)Ouifonk (Diggin’Dipper, Uncle Abner, NuForms radioshow, FR)

“This is simply the best release on Beyondjazz yet. The music chosen displays real maturity and variety, and the Beyondjazz crew have really got something good here … can’t wait for Vol. 4 !!!” – Liam (Feelmusic, UK)

“Have to say, it’s an absolute killer – ‘Combining Equations’ is the one for me so far, but they’re all top notch tunes, so I’m sure I’ll keep changing my favourite the more I listen. Definitely gonna be dropping a lot of these. Keep up the good work, and hopefully I’ll get something to you for the next version ;o) – Sam (Ishfaq)

“The Montreal tune is so nice. Its in my box right now. Thanks” – Ben Westbeech (Brownswood Recordings, UK)

“The compilation certainly outstands some of those you can in a shop, so it’s only unfair (in a way), that this doesn’t get the distribution it deserves. Quality is all the way up, and I always find it pleasant to discover music from people I did not know before or from people I know from the internet without having a clue they are so gifted. If I have to pick a favourite, it’s clearly Oracle’s “Feel the process” and I honestly leave all the friendship with Joachim and Martin outside (it has too much Agent K feel to it not to be my favourite). That would be followed by a new discovery being Lava Musique Ensemble. Other highlights are the usual suspects Jonny Miller and Inverse Cinematics.
Great spectrum of who and what is Beyondjazz and that more people need hear about Beyondjazz. All the best for the future, keep it up!” – Jan (Idleberg)

“Really enjoying the CD especially NEMOY – been playing it the last few weeks on World Service.” – Christopher (Citrus / World Service, BE)

“A cracking well comped comp to seal 2006, cheers” – Mark Springfield (Distinct Music, UK)

“Thank you to all involved for the compilation, most enjoyable. Hard to pick a favourite as they’re all quality tracks … But I will have to say the Yosaku track “Mirandolina” edges it for me, lovely tune!” – Danny (Grudgemonkey, UK)

“I’ve been listening to the compilation a couple of time .s.. the thing is what I’ve REALLY been feeling is your Beyondjazz-intro and OF COURSE the Joash tune, that one’s stunning. The compilation as a whole is a solid thing, that’s what I know. Take care & keep up the good spirits.” – Dimlite (CH)
